Barton Library

Non-Fiction Papers

This section of the library comprises nearly 2,000 booklets, essays and articles from journals covering the same topics and range of levels as the book collection.

The Non-Fiction Papers catalogue is divided into fifteen sections, according to subject.

Each entry gives the title, author and details of the journal or book from which the item was taken or just  the date of publication in the case of pamphlets. Each entry also includes a synopsis of the subjects covered. Italic type has been used for the titles of journals, books and pamphlets.

To save space the titles of some of the most frequently quoted journals have been abbreviated as follows

BIHR: Bulletin of the Institute of Historical Research
BJRL: Bulletin of John Rylands Library
EHR: English Historical Review
TBGAS: Transactions of the Bristol and Gloucestershire Archaeological Society.
TRHS: Transactions of the Royal Historical Society

The Library is provided for the benefit of all members. Items may be collected personally (please make an appointment before calling) or sent by post to members anywhere in the World.
