Fiction
The
period of the Wars of the Roses has always been a favourite with historical
novelists and the controversy surrounding Richard III has generated
some classic novels such as 'The Daughter of Time'. This section of
the Library contains over 400 novels set in the fifteenth century
or featuring 'Ricardian' themes.
The
Fiction catalogue lists all the novels in the Barton Library. The entries
are arranged in alphabetical order by the authors' names and give the
title and date of publication. and whether they are hardbacks or paperbacks. A brief outline of the story is also included in each entry.
Books
are sent by post to members anywhere in the United Kingdom or may be
collected personally (please make an appointment before calling). We
regret that because of the risk of loss or delay in the post, books
are not sent outside the UK. Overseas members are recommended to use
the catalogue as a reading list and check the library facilities of
their local Society branch or public library. One or two old and/or
rare books can only be borrowed if they can be collected and returned
in person.
Please send your requests to borrow novels to the Fiction Librarian:
